It’s a word, an idea, a feeling, a way of learning perfumery for those who want more than to just enjoy the perfume made by others. It’s for those who want to be part of the world of perfumery themselves.
When Sarah first decided to make perfume, her goal was to create fragrances that didn’t yet exist. She wanted to match the aromas she had invented for a novella she'd written. She thought they would already be out there, but they weren’t. So she decided to learn how to make them herself. Since then, Sarah has been creating fragrances inspired by time and places, real and imaginary, past, present and future.
When you approach perfumery (or anything, for that matter) in a unique and creative way, people want to know more. Sarah started getting questions about indie perfumery from people excited by what she was doing and she realised that she loved teaching others how to make their own creative, unique fragrances almost as much as she loved creating them.
